Cork county Development Plan 2022 – 2028

team-spirit

We need your help to ask Cork County Council to give nature a chance in their Development Plan for 2022 to 2028.

Cork County Council is inviting the public consultation on their Development Plan for 2022 to 2028.
Public consultation meeting dates will be on the 16th and 17th of June 2020. You can email planningpolicyunit@corkcoco.ie to take an appointment with the planning team.
Cork Nature Network would like a commitment and more measures put into place to protect our wildlife and natural areas. We don’t think the plan does this effectively.
We would like to see:
1.  A vision statement based on sustainability and protection of our natural environment
2.  Policies that permit the development of nature-rich settlements rather than sterile, over-sprayed developments.
3.  More public green spaces, native Irish trees and biodiversity areas
4.  More innovative measures e.g. Natural Flood Management
If you prefer to write a letter, please see our template Cork County DP Postal letter. We ask you to send this or amend it to suit your thoughts to the address given or to your local Councillor or submit your comments online.

It is so important that we make comments on this plan. We need a change and we need policies and measures that help our wildlife and the world in which they live.

For more info and details about the Cork County Development Plan, please visit the Cork County website. On that page, you will find the link with a form to complete to submit a request.
