The Green Spaces project allows us at Cork Nature Network to protect areas important to nature throughout Cork City and County.
This project covers a number of sites and aims to provide valuable habitat for wildlife.
Cork Nature Network is working with Cork City Council and Green Spaces for Health to connect and manage these areas. Wildlife throughout the city and county depend on certain habitats to provide them with food, shelter and areas to raise young, our aim with this project is to provide just that!
The Green Spaces project is currently in its infancy, we aid in the management of two main sites, located at Parkowen, just of Douglas St., and Langford Row. And both of these sites are fully open to the public!
Cork Nature Network, along with Green Spaces for Health, will continue to manage these sites through the planting of pollinator-friendly native plant species and the preservation of beneficial habitats.
We plan to start events and tours of interest at Parkowen within the coming months. We hope that you will keep an eye on our social media platforms and this space.
